The Royal Family commemorates the 70th anniversary of the conclusion of the Korean War

His Majesty was accompanied by veterans Alan Guy, Mike Mogridge, Brian Parritt, and Ronald Yardly for a private audience prior to the reception.

Shortly thereafter, The Princess Royal and The Duchess of Edinburgh joined a gathering of approximately 200 Korean War veterans.

They interacted with officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Defence, and the Royal British Legion.

Last year marked the 70th anniversary of the armistice signing that halted military operations during the Korean War.

The Princess Royal delivered a speech on behalf of The King, reflecting on how the conflict was once labeled as “the Forgotten War” and paying tribute to the veterans.

In a world where freedoms are constantly under threat and our values are questioned, your selfless bravery and unwavering commitment to peace serve as enduring principles that are not forgotten and will continue to inspire future generations.
