The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art receives a visit from the King and Queen

The King, as the newly appointed Patron of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), made his inaugural visit to the institution alongside The Queen.

RADA is renowned for its exceptional training in the dramatic and production arts, fostering creativity, empowering individuals, and striving to instigate positive change within the creative industries and broader community.

The Royal Family's affiliation with RADA dates back more than a century, tracing back to the Royal Charter granted in 1920.

The late Queen Elizabeth II held the Patronage of RADA from 1952 until her passing in 2022.

During their visit, Their Majesties were introduced to notable alumni, including actor and RADA President David Harewood, as well as actress, singer, and Vice President Cynthia Erivo.

The royal couple explored the campus, engaging with students honing their skills in performance, set design, costume, and various other disciplines.

For generations, RADA has stood as a beacon of excellence, globally recognized for its transformative education in the dramatic arts, shaping the talents of tomorrow.
