The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art hosts a visit from the King and Queen

Upon becoming the new Patron of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), The King embarked on his inaugural visit to the prestigious school, accompanied by The Queen.

RADA is renowned for its top-notch training in the dramatic and production arts, fostering creativity, empowering individuals, and striving to bring about positive change in the creative industries and broader community.

The Academy's longstanding connection with the Royal Family dates back over a century, originating from the Royal Charter it received in 1920.

The late Queen Elizabeth II held the Patronage of RADA from 1952 until her passing in 2022.

During their visit, Their Majesties were introduced to RADA alumni, including actor and President of RADA, David Harewood, and actress, singer, and Vice President, Cynthia Erivo.

As they toured the school, The King and Queen interacted with students honing their skills in various areas such as performance, set design, and costume design.

For more than a hundred years, RADA has stood as a beacon of excellence, leading the way in dramatic arts education and shaping the talents of the future generation.
