The Queen is named the inaugural Patron of The Rifleman's Association

The Queen, who serves as the Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, has recently been named as the first Patron of The Rifleman's Association.

This association plays a vital role in providing a platform for both active and retired Riflemen of all ranks, as well as their families, to maintain ties with the regiment, offering companionship, assistance, and support.

One of the key initiatives led by The Rifleman's Association is the Always a Rifleman Programme, which focuses on suicide prevention and mental well-being, along with Care for Casualties, providing aid to families and Riflemen impacted by the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Rifles, the largest infantry regiment in the British Army, consists of four Regular Battalions, three Reserve Battalions, RIFLES Affiliated Cadets, Veterans and families associated with The Rifles and its predecessors, as well as the communities throughout the UK that hold significant historical ties with the regiment.

In 2020, The Queen assumed the role of Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, succeeding the late Duke of Edinburgh.
