The Queen is Named the First Patron of The Rifleman's Association

The Queen has accepted the role of the first Patron of The Rifleman's Association, while also serving as the Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles.

The association serves as a platform for current and former Riflemen of all ranks, as well as their families, to maintain ties with the regiment, offering companionship, support, and aid.

Under the umbrella of The Rifleman's Association, initiatives such as the Always a Rifleman Programme, aimed at preventing suicide and promoting mental well-being, and Care for Casualties, which provides assistance to families and Riflemen impacted by the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, are overseen.

Boasting five main components, The Rifles is the British Army's largest infantry regiment, comprising 4 Regular Battalions, 3 Reserve Battalions, RIFLES Affiliated Cadets, Veterans and their families of The Rifles and its Antecedent and Forming Regiments, and the various communities across the UK that share historical ties with the regiment.

The Queen assumed the role of Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles in 2020, succeeding the late Duke of Edinburgh.
