His Royal Highness began his visit by stopping at Earthshot Prize 2022 Finalist, Low Carbon Materials, to gain insights into their creation of innovative, low-carbon construction materials.
Following their recognition as an Earthshot Prize Finalist, Low Carbon Materials has expanded their endeavors, introducing new products and forming partnerships to expedite their mission of decarbonizing the construction sector.
This has involved a significant collaboration with National Highways to support its pledge of achieving net zero emissions from construction and maintenance activities by 2040.
The Prince of Wales later proceeded to James’ Place in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to understand the vital support provided by the charity's new center to men in the region facing suicidal crises.
His Royal Highness toured the facility, engaging with staff and beneficiaries who have benefited from the charity's services, before officially inaugurating the center.
He had previously unveiled the charity's initial center in Liverpool in 2018, followed by its London location in 2022.
Since opening for referrals in January, James’ Place has assisted over 140 men, and collectively has supported more than 2,300 men across all its facilities.
