Prince of Wales Visits Surplus to Supper Charity

The Prince of Wales paid a visit to Surrey to shine a light on the positive community and environmental contributions made by a surplus food redistribution charity in the area.

During his visit to Sunbury Cricket Club, His Royal Highness learned about the impactful work of Surplus to Supper, which aims to address food waste and food poverty in Surrey and West London.

The charity successfully redistributes more than three tonnes of surplus food daily to various local projects like food banks, charities, schools, and community organizations.

The Prince engaged with volunteers who are responsible for sorting and delivering food, assisting in loading delivery vans, and even joining a driver on a food transportation journey.

Furthermore, he visited the Hanworth Centre Hub in Feltham, a youth center that benefits from regular food deliveries from Surplus to Supper.

The Prince helped make a delivery himself before engaging with staff and volunteers to understand how the donated food enhances the services offered at the center.

The Hub serves as a safe and inclusive space for young individuals, some of whom have encountered challenging circumstances.

It provides support, fosters confidence, and equips them with valuable skills for a brighter future.
