For the very first time, the public will now have the opportunity to see the view from the perspective of the royals as the East Wing of the palace opens its doors to visitors.
Guided tours will include a visit to the Centre Room, which leads out to the balcony.
While visitors won't be able to step onto the balcony itself, they will get a glimpse through the net curtains of the view enjoyed by the King and Queen as they wave to the crowds on the Mall.
A palace source mentioned, "Visitors may not be able to go out onto the balcony, but they will definitely feel the grandeur and ambiance of that room, as well as experience the vista from the window.
" This move to open up the East Wing aligns with the King's vision to make royal residences more accessible to the public, following the recent decision to open up Balmoral for the first time.
Tickets for the tours, priced between £100 and £150, were quickly sold out within 24 hours, causing the Balmoral website to briefly crash due to the overwhelming demand.
Visitors will be led in small groups by expert guides through the rooms on the Principal Floor, adorned with pieces from the Royal Collection.
The tour will cover several rooms along the red-carpeted Principal Corridor in the East Wing, an area previously off-limits to the public.
The corridor boasts nearly 30 paintings by renowned artists like Thomas Gainsborough and Sir Thomas Lawrence.
Notably, the paintings focus on Queen Victoria and her family, along with significant events in her life.
The East Wing features various highlights, including the iconic Yellow Drawing Room where Elizabeth II delivered her Christmas address in 2004.
Visitors will also see historic Chinese hand-painted wallpaper, Chinese porcelain pagodas, and the Kylin Clock.
The tour will also showcase the Centre Room leading to the balcony, the Privy Purse entrance area, and the restored glass chandelier among other features.
The East Wing, constructed between 1847 and 1849 at the behest of Queen Victoria, was recently refurbished as part of a 10-year reservicing program for Buckingham Palace.
Limited East Wing Highlights Tours will be available daily from July 15 onwards for a combined ticket price of £75, in addition to the standard admission to the State Rooms.
Tickets will go on sale on April 9, with priority given to Royal Collection Trust email subscribers.
The Royal Collection Trust, a charity responsible for safeguarding the monarchs' artwork and managing public access to official royal residences, generates income through admission fees and commercial activities.
While the trust faced financial challenges during the pandemic, it returned to profit in the previous financial year.
